In a recent interview with Google’s Matt Cutts, he answered the lingering issue if grammar and spelling are factors that determine a site’s PageRank. ““We noticed a while ago that, if you look at the PageRank of a page — how reputable we think a particular page or site is — the ability to spell correlates relatively well with that. So, the reputable sites tend to spell better and the sites that are lower PageRank, or very low PageRank, tend not to spell as well.”” Cutts also mentioned that Google has come up with a way to gauge the level of content that could be used as a valid quality signal. When the Panda algorithm was released back in February, Google made it very clear that Panda will be keen on a site’s usability and quality which included the content-related areas of factual errors, grammar, spelling, and style of writing. This brought some issues regarding the quality control of content. It’s no secret that there are freelance SEO specialists that offer content writing as well, but the thing is, content writing is a different area. It’s a perfect example of not letting a plumber do a fireman’s job.
While SEO specialists can increase a site’s rankings, it’s crucial that they have quality content to load their cannons before initiating the whole optimization process. As the world becomes more social, search engines don’t only become picky with user-generated content, the engines are now turning a keen eye for quality content. In the post-Panda SEO world, quality is a relevant term that is now synonymous with content. Apt SEO strategies enhanced with quality content will definitely make the process smooth and effective while maintaining a results-driven SEO campaign.
